Tun Fuad Stephens Park at Bukit Padang, Kota Kinabalu is a beautiful and peaceful park for you to take a short break from your hectic shopping spree in Kota Kinabalu during your Sabah vacation. This park is a nice place to sit and relax in a forest environment with shady trees and fresh air. In the middle of the park, there is a lake which is surrounded by hills on its three sides for you to unwind. This lake was formerly used as a water reservoir for KK town. A wooden bridge has been built across the lake to allow visitors to walk to the center of the lake for a more scenic view of the lake. Visitors can also feed the Japanese carps which are in the lake from this wooden bridge.

There is also a 1.2 miles (2 km) long track around the lake for you to jog or stroll around under the shady trees. This track is a favorite with the townsfolk as many people can be seen to walk or jog on it in the early morning or late evening. There are also a few small shelters around the park for tired joggers and walkers to take a rest and for picnickers to enjoy the lake.

For those with extra energy to burn, you can climb up the hill called Bukit Padang. There are a few trails for climbers to take which is about 0.6 miles (1 km) each to reach the 460' (140 m) high hill which have a small plateau of about 1000 ft² (92 m²) at the top. Climbers will be rewarded with a scenic view of the surrounding area at the top after the 30 minutes hike. The top of the hill is also a good place to view the beautiful sunset in the late evening.

Getting There: Tun Fuad Stephens Park, Kota Kinabalu is located at Bukit Padang, about 3.7 miles (6 km) from the east of Kota Kinabalu City center. The journey to the park will takes about 20 minutes drive from KK city centre.
